Hi Diana, my welcome on FactGrid, by the way. Are you aware that the software allows you to make mass changes from any list you might have? You can run statements into the machine from an Excel sheet with 2 edits per second. - Dear Diana, please be so kind and set at least English labels on all the items you are creating. I have just given your last batch all our four languages, and I am still not sure whether you checked these items on records doubles. Record doubles are problematic because they split searches.
- You can usually use Google translate on any Google spreadsheet to create the other languages. People just see Q-Numbers if you create items without an English label. These items remain unusable for all the others. --Olaf Simons (talk) 12:36, 29 September 2024 (CEST)
- Dear Olaf, These are the unique items for BITAGAP, from a spreadsheet I have been working on since June. I checked all and they are not duplicates. Me and my new supervisor are still working on Len and Den. I believe I will edit those next week. Most are very specific Portuguese medieval careers and are impossible to translate. The decision we made was to add Lpt right now, so that all dataclips are online, and work with Len after because most will not be translatable. For those I will add the same Len as Lpt.
- Like Item:Q176134 Earth and Item:Q997955 - are these the same? You see the difference in properties. Your Earth is a locality, no Wikidata link, no geo coordinate, could the same or a Portuguese place that should be Terra in all languages. - None of those are the same: Q997955 means "land" (WD Q11081619), Den will probably be "Geographical area in which it is possible to cultivate and which was granted to someone". Q176134 is the planet earth. In Portuguese both are "Terra". Q997638 is for the Galician names of institutions (that will probably be the Den), Q361087 is for the language. That is why I added Q176134 as an instance of Q361087. I have the wikidata links for many of these qids, but don't know how to add them with QS. Can you help me with that?
The command to add a Wikidata link is Swikidatawiki and the Wikidata-Q-number in quotes. If none of these are record doubles we need Descriptions in all pur languages (Dde, Den, Dfr, Des, Dpl) that marke the differences explicit. Otherwise people in other languages will use these items invariably and mess up your data without even noticing. --Olaf Simons (talk) 13:47, 29 September 2024 (CEST)

- I will ask to change Len for Q997638 to "Name of institution in Galician" and suggest a new Den. I will also tell the team about the need to add all pur languages. Please, understand that I am not able to make these decisions on my own, I need to request my supervisors for any changes. I will ask to use translations, like you taught me, but I still need to ask first. I am now working on Len and Den, a task I am allowed to do.
