Transcript
Modesty [in relating a Story] is so amiable,
so insinuating a Thing, that all the Rules
of Oratory cannot help Men to a more
agreeable Ornament of Discourse. A
modest Proposal will soonest captivate
Mens Reasons; and a modest Relation
their Belief.
