The present mess

Our present way to deal with career statements (in the widest sense of everything from "Carpenter" to "Hospital inmate" is messy. The mess has historical reasons:

We started this with an input from Gotha's address books (1828-46) - an we here just created items for all the status statements that were given with the personal names of the respective residents. This caused statements

  1. of unnecessary variations: Laquai, Lakei
  2. of the sort "Carpenter's widow" - which we began to reformulate as "Widow, qualifier: status of the deceased husband: Carpenter"
  3. of the sort "Retired baker", which we eventually began to transform into "Pensioner, qualifier: formerly baker)'
  4. with several components
  5. of academic titles
  6. honorary titles
