	İstanΠόλις This is a platform and network hub for historical studies about the Greek Orthodox communities of late Ottoman Istanbul/Constantinople (c. 1821-1923). Here you will find links to the latest scholarship, memoirs, and primary source documents, as well as discussion and emerging scholarship about the many layers of community—legal, administrative, and ecclesiastical, but also social, cultural, and political—in which the Greek Orthodox of The City of the long nineteenth century were involved. Data projects about the historical demography, residential and migration patterns, and professional and class identities of Rum residents will be displayed here. While this site serves as a clearinghouse and an incubator for data, mapping, and other Digital Humanities and conventional scholarly projects related to the Greek Orthodox of Istanbul, it is meant to connect up to the many other projects underway that map the many other communities in the same urban space. It is also meant to make accessible the wealth of knowledge in Greek-language histories of the constituent parish and neighborhood communities of the city, and to bring those together with Ottoman state archival materials, to work toward a three-dimensional understanding of what community meant, and how it worked, and changed, for Greek Orthodox Christians in the final century of the Ottoman Empire. We are open to considering new proposals for subgroups/research teams on relevant topics, so please contact us with your ideas! 	Religion im Herzogtum Gotha-Sachsen-Altenburg: Pfarrer, Pfarreien, Archive Zwei Dateneingaben stehen im Zentrum des Projekts: Das Archiv der evangelisch-lutherischen Kirche, Gotha gab Anfang 2019 seinen Aktenbestand ins FactGrid ein. Bis auf die Aktenebene bietet die Plattform seitdem das Findbuch des Archivs der evangelisch-lutherischen Kirche, Gotha Heino Richard arbeitet seit dem Frühjahr 2019 an der Gesamterfassung aller Pfarrer im ehemaligen Gothaer Herzogtum. Greifbar sind hier mittlerweile alle Pfarreien des Territoriums mit den Stellenbesetzungen von der Reformation bis in die 1920er Jahre. Kartenansicht aller Pfarreien des ehemaligen Herzogtums mit Links in die Datensätze der Amtsinhaber in ihrer jeweiligen Folge Das aktuelle Projekt weitet diese Resource aus mit genealogischer Hintergrundinformation zu den Eltern, den Familien, in die die Pfarrer hineinheirateten, und den Familien, die die Kinder gründeten. Berufsinformationen und geographische Hintergrundinformationen sind Teil der hier vorgelegten komplexen Datensätze. Ein Desiderat ist von hier aus die mittlerweile die Vernetzung der Information in die Aktenbeständen der Landeskirche und des Staatsarchivs hinein.
	The Global Genealogy of Lodges FactGrid presently offers the data sets of some 2100 Lodges, most of them of the (former) German speaking territories. The individual sets are by and large superficial — most of them drawn from GND data, French Lodges came into the project with Bruno Belhoste's Harmonia Universalis project. A couple of lodges have, however, become test cases for the more interesting and wider project with denser packs of information (see Gotha's former Lodge "Ernst zum Compaß" as our case of greatest detail). Christian Wirkner supplied detailed membership information for Göttingen's 18th-century Lodges. Membership information is otherwise available wherever Hermann Schüttler provided Masonic background information in the Gotha Illuminati Research Base. 	Der Gotha Zettelkasten Der "Gotha Zettelkasten", im November 2018 im FactGrid Blog und mit einer eigenen Facebook Gruppe ins Leben gerufen, ist ein Projekt mit Stadtbeteiligung, das Olaf Simons aus dem Gothaer Sammlungs- und Forschungsverbund heraus betreut. Angesprochen sind hier alle in Gotha arbeitenden Sammlungs- und Forschungsinstitutionen, die Schulen Gothas sowie die mit Geschichte befassten Vereine. Der Zettelkasten steht in dieser Ausrichtung für beliebige auf Gotha ausgerichtete Arbeitsvorhaben offen. Das Forschungszentrum brachte dabei Vorarbeiten ein, die es interessant machen sollten, hier vorliegende Daten mit privaten und am Ort recherchierbaren zu vernetzen. Im Raster liegen hier vor die Datensätze: alle Gothaer Adressen nach den Adressbüchern von 1828 bis 1859, Kartenansicht Datenobjekte zu allen Adressen mit Hauseignern und Bewohnern — hier der Datensatz zum Haus Gotha, Große Sundhäusergasse 4 (alte Hausnummer 102) mit seinen Bewohnerangaben. von 15.924 Gothaer Bürgern mit Adressinformationen und ansatzweiser genealogischer Vernetzung Unklar bleibt, wie groß die kritische Masse an Information sein muss, die es im Verlauf interessant macht, Archivdaten mit den vorliegenden Daten zu vernetzen, thematisch fokussierte Recherchen an die Datenlage anzuknüpfen und — etwa in Schulprojekten — mit Erkundungen des Geländes in das bestehende Datengefüge einzusteigen.

	Die Gartenlaube Die Gartenlaube : Illustrirtes Familienblatt (später Illustriertes Familienblatt, ab 1938 mit dem veränderten Titel Die neue Gartenlaube) war ein Vorläufer moderner Illustrierter und das erste große erfolgreiche deutsche Massenblatt. Es erschien ab 1853 und erreichte 1876 unter dem Verleger Ernst Keil eine Auflagenhöhe von 382.000 Exemplaren. In der Summe sind 121.000 Seiten erschienen. Einer der Mitbegründer war Ferdinand Stolle. Da die Gartenlaube sowohl in der gemeinsamen Familienlektüre konsumiert wurde als auch in zahlreichen Leihbibliotheken und Cafés als Auslage zur Verfügung stand, beläuft sich die Schätzung der eigentlichen Leserschaft auf zwei bis fünf Millionen zu ihren Hochzeiten. Wikisource/Die Gartenlaube) Die Gartenlaube stellt eine ebenso umfassende wie für viele historische Untersuchungsfelder unverzichtbare Quelle zur deutschen Kulturgeschichte dar, zum Beispiel bezüglich der in der Illustrierten veröffentlichten Fortsetzungsromane. Die Gartenlaube wird seit 2008 in Wikisource transkribiert, die OCR korrigiert und samt Illustrationen artikelweise editiert. Seit 2019 werden diese Dokumente mit offenen bibliografischen Metadaten in Wikidata erschlossen (katalogisiert) – Projektname Die Datenlaube.
