The ending is different from the original. Historicising introduction to European high politics of the time of Charles VI. of France and various relationships and alliances between houses. Actions in Spain and in the Arab world, with many people and events, which are each reported in detail or historically-summarized. Physical similarities between strangers and exchangeable fates lead to confusion with serious consequences. Problem situations: marriage contracts concluded in the protagonists' youth, in conflict with these arising love obligations, intrigues of rivals, identities to be temporarily assumed (the hero as a heathen), imprisonments, kidnappings, ship accidents, etc. (English)
