Education: Charterhouse School (1709–14)
Patrons: the fourth earl of Shaftesbury commissioned a life of the first earl of him; Unknown patron assisted staging Timoleon
Overall: It appears that his only substantial verse work was as the writer of the tragedy Timoleon, which was not well-received critically however played a respectable two weeks on the stage (although it was initially rejected). Later work appears to serve only as political documents.
