since 1932 a district of Schönebeck (Elbe) and state-approved spa in the Salzland district in Saxony-Anhalt. Created in 1894 by merging the towns of Groß Salze and Elmen into the town of Groß Salze, renamed "Bad Salzelmen" in 1926.
