Is is a maxim with me, (and I would recom-
mend it to others also, upon the Score of pru-
dence) whenever I loose a person's Friendship,
to engage a fresh friend in his place. And
this may be best effected by bringing over
some of one's ennemies; by which means one
is a gainer, having an ennemy the less, and
the same number of Friends.
