The Gotha Illuminati Research Base

The Gotha Illuminati Research Base is a collaborative project of Gotha's Research Centre with a longer list of contributors: Olaf Simons, Markus Meumann, Hermann Schüttler, Christian Wirkner, Erik Liebscher, Martin Mulsow, Josef Wäges — to mention the most prominent.

The database comprises the data sets of some 7000 documents, 1500 publications, 1400 people who were members or otherwise related to the order.

Showcases are the two timelines of all the meetings of Minerval Churches we have documented and of the member entry points we could pin to a specific date.

The database is particularly useful to reconstruct correspondences — offering focuses on authors, recipients and persons mentioned in documents.

The search for people who are known to have signed a Reverse for the Order gives the most comprehensive list of members available at the moment. The project page offers more sample queries and first perspectives on the findings.

The Global Genealogy of Lodges

FactGrid presently offers the data sets of some 860 lodges, most of them of the (former) German speaking territories. The individual sets are by and large superficial — most of them drawn from GND data. A couple of lodges have, however, become test cases for the more interesting and wider project with denser packs of information (see Gothas former lodge "Ernst zum Compaß" as our case of greatest detail).

Christian Wirkner supplied detailed membership information for Göttingen's 18th-century lodges. Membership information is otherwise available wherever User:Hermann Schüttler provided Masonic background information in the Gotha Illuminati Research Base. The following searches will the status quo:

The wider project of the global genealogy of Lodges will require a team to gather and visualise information on the evolution of Masonry with statements on lodges and their respective affiliations and adherence to systems as they developed over the last three centuries.

The FactGrid/GND-Project

Produced by the German national Library and its partner institutions the GND is the biggest compound of data that is supplying libraries with authoritative information on authors, organisations and topics in the German speaking countries. In March 2019 we entered a joint venture with the DNB to organise a coordinated input of GND-Data — coordinated to work in an ensemble of federated wikibase instances in the future.

In the course of the year we will upload the data sets of several millions of biographies and organisations with the aim to facilitate work on the platform. The project page gives insight into the problems and access to those working on the upload.

Wikidata and wikibase fans are still welcome to help us with the technicalities and the transformation of data models we are presently trying to understand.

The Bible & Quran Project

Initiated by Tim Herb the project aims to map all biblical and Quranic names and to connect these with the genealogical and historical information given in the Biblical texts. As Wikibase allows contradicting statements we will not try to harmonise the information. The project will rather offer competing chronologies and genealogies according to the various statements of the individual books.

The project is so far in its initial stages. The first target is the Bible on FactGrid - every verse and every book with a Q-Number and links into German and English BibleServer.com translations. We should in a second step be able to configure different Bibles for different religions and religious denominations.

The Biblical names will come with GND and Wikidata links. We have not yet risked to advertise the project on a larger scale.
